Night Diving

Equivalency/Brevet: CMAS/GDL AK Nachttauchen / SSI SC-LV Night & Limited Visibility
In 2 night or in limited visibility dives and 1 theory lessons you will learn important skills to perform dives in poor visibility, or at night.
Do you like to admire the inhabitants of the reef and the coral landscape at dusk or at night?
Do you want to be able to find your way around any dive site at night and respectfully use your torch in the dark?
Do you want to discover as much as possible in the light of your underwater lamp and know where exactly to look?
Prerequisites
• Completed diving training (SUBEX-Diver, CMAS/VDST 1 Star, OWD SSI/PADI)
• 25 logged dives
• Minimum age 16 years
About the course:
- The goal of the specialty is to safely and casually deal with the changing visibility conditions underwater at a depth of 5 - 18 meters, to plan and execute the night dive and to reliably use the special equipment needed at night.
- First and foremost, the student will experience the feeling of diving at night.
- Orientation in the dark is trained, as well as the behavior in case of partner loss is discussed.
- Basic skills, such as the handling of one's own equipment and that of the partner, the consideration of environmental conditions, the sign language and the communication under water are clarified once again.
- Dealing with dangerous situations - especially partner loss and current - will be discussed and in order to plan, execute and complete the dives correctly, your knowledge about breathing minute volume will be refreshed, air consumption will be calculated and the minimum air reserve, maximum depth and bottom time will be determined.
- 2 dives, one at dawn and one at dusk
- 1 theoretical sessions during briefing and debriefing: difference between day and night dives, planning and preparation of a night dive, special equipment and behavior during the dive
- Diving lamp included
- With only three more Specialtys your SSI OWD becomes an SSI AOWD
